LEI24 coordinates the request through Nasdaq CSD SE, the GLEIF-accredited LEI issuer, with the issuer currently managing the LEI. An LEI can be transferred whether its registration status is currently issued or lapsed. An LEI can be transferred with an issued or lapsed status. An issued LEI may be transferred without renewal, but a lapsed LEI must be renewed as part of the transfer.
An LEI with an issued status can be transferred at any time. The transfer does not change the LEI number or automatically extend its next renewal date.
A lapsed LEI can also be transferred, but the transfer alone does not restore its registration status. You must also renew the LEI so its reference data can be revalidated.
If the entity’s registered information has changed, the relevant details can be updated as part of the renewal process.
